This is right from the tourbuddy site.....
9. What makes it work?
A little bit of physics goes a long way here.
A vacuum is created in the main tank when fuel is being used. The Tour
Buddy tank is attached with the vent line to the main tank and vented
through the vent line on the Tour Buddy tank. Air is being pulled in through
the Tour Buddy and the fuel is pulled with the air into the rest of the
system.

The Tour Buddy tank empties first, and your fuel gauge will show full
until the Tour Buddy tank is emptied and then the fuel gauge will go down as
fuel is used from the main tank.

Tour Buddy belt guard mounted tanks are not suitable for installation
in fan cooled sleds because of the heat under the hood. Most of our
auxiliary fuel tanks are for liquid cooled sleds only. The baggage mounted
tanks can be installed in any REV tm model.

Seems simple enough....
I wish we lived closer, I'd offer to lend a hand.... and a shop. =-)

Hi Jeff,

Got the shop and tools. Just lazy and lookin for someone who has done it to
offer the shortcut/advice.

How's it been goin? Harrison talks endlessly about getting up there to ride
with you again. Then again, Harrison talks endlessly. (But don't tell him
I said that.)

Dennis:

When all else fails, read the directions!

Shortcut/advice? If you don't feel comfortable, let the dealer do it. You are
dealing with your sled's fuel system, a known fire hazard and gasoline vapor.

Springing a leak would suck. Gasoline vapor + ignition source = boom!
