Hello.

I have a 1995 Indy Trail Deluxe long track. I am contemplating whether to
change the rings/pistons or not (7800 miles). Can someone tell me what the
compression should be for this type of engine (488 fan)? Compression right
now reads 110 left, 112 right.

Thanks in advance for any reponses given.

It runs OK. I've had the sled for 2 years. I take my wife/kids on day
fishing trips & don't want to be left in the bush because of a worn out
piston. Just being proactive if I need be. Just curious what a new sleds
compression should be?

Thanks

This is just a guess, but ... the new sleds are probably testing 125-130
pounds.

Brian:

I have a 95 Indy 500 with 20,000 miles on it. It has 120 pounds on both
cylinders. Original pistons and rings. You can never be sure if you;ll
have a problem, but I'd leave it alone based on your measurements.

Hope this helps....
