I am still monitoring the news group. Pretty quiet.

I have quit riding though. I was 65 when I took my last ride, and the
old body just won't handle it any more. I still have the sled, but
only because I never got around to trying to sell it (Sherwood Park,
AB area, if there is any interest in a 2000 Polaris 500 RMK). E-mail
me if you are interested.

I guess I've "quit" too... at least for the next couple of years; just
don't have time.

I managed 1200 miles this season on my 1200 GSX.
Most of the guys in my sled club are retired and they still so a club ride
on Tues & Wed. Of course they
only ride when the trails are mint as they are local to the area and I'm
hours away at work during the week.
NG's have become a think of the past I guess, only us old guys even know of
it's existence.

I've noticed that lack of posts here too, although I'm here several
times every single day as I've been since back in the 90's.....

Or to be a little more precisely:
I use the same program for both regular e-mail and newsgroups, and have
configured the program to use automatic message synchronization, so
every time I check for new e-mail, the program will also check all
newsgroups I subscribe to and automatically download any new messages
for offline reading...

Concerning sledding, there hasn't been so much news in my part of the
world, except for two recent and major accidents with multiple
casualties...

In the first accident, that occurred a few weeks ago, 10 persons were
involved in a snowmobile crash, whereof three persons killed... BUT...
there is was only 2 - two - sleds that collided head on...

The last accidend occured just before Easter (tuesday 26th of March),
where three snowmobilers were buried in an avalanche. This is now 8
days ago, but they still remain buried in the avalanche as the extreme
risk if new avalanches in the area have made it too risky for rescuers
to approach the area....

Wow!
I thought this newsgroup was done a long time ago?

Well then,
I'LL have to check in from time to time.

3500 miles for the season. (this far) Not sure, might take one more ride in another week.

Yup the last of the paK.
I was surprised and happy to find this group once again.(thanks to the smaht phone)=-)
It's been MANY years that's for sure.
Has Rob been around at all?

I see you're riding a 1200 Doo John,
you must like it, it's quite a nice sled?

As for my riding season it COULD go on for a few more weeks but I think I'm going to pickle the fleet for summer and get on with the Honey Do list for spring.

No sign of Rob, or anyone since he started his site up. Only site I have
time for now is Doo Talk and that's just reading for mech. info on my sleds.
1200 is my sled of choice now since '09. Just got one for my wife, GSX with
the air ride suspension & heated seat. Talk about a caddy. No more 2
strokes for me, 4 strokes are the way to go for this old trail rider. It
uses regular gas also.

Good to see your still out there riding.
Yep I've been on RSS since my first 'puter in '95. still have Outlook
checking for new posts as well.
Your seasons longer than mine, I only logged 1200 trail miles this year, Jan
thaw put a dent in it for sure.
