Hi, I'm trying to bring an old enticer back from the dead. I cleaned
the carb and got her to start and stay running at idle. Problem is
when i actually hopped on to ride, it zoomed for 300 feet then died.
Couldnt get it back started after. I see gas is getting to the carb.
Someone said maybe the float needs adjusting? Any ideas? Thanks...

Did you drain and flush the fuel tank and replace with high quality
non-oxy gasoline? What about your oil tank, is that full of fresh oil?
Spark plugs new? Seems like I have to do this with my 86 ovation every
year! I HATE that damn sled.

Gas and plugs are new. Oil is old, I'll drain and replace, see what
happens!

Check the actual fuel pump output while you crank it. It may be pumping
only just enough to idle but can't keep up at anything higher. Could be a
clogged pulse line from the crankcase to the pump. Disconnect the line at
the pump and blow compressed air through the line into the crankcase to
clear it out. Crud could have accumulated at the nipple, especially if it's
at the bottom of the crankcase.

Check for a spark. The 300 foot ride could have jostled the wiring.

Check gas tank vent for being plugged. Insect nest in line could be plugging
it. Loosening gas cap to let air in is the check for that.
On a sled that old all the rubber / plastic lines are suspect for cracking /
leaking into or out of.
Check all electrical connections for good connection.
Ya need spark, fuel & air for combustion.
Mouse nest in the airbox?
Plugs dry or wet when it died. Dry, no fuel. Wet, too much fuel or bad
spark.
The list is long, check everything.
